“Reflecting on my internship experience at the Hilton Garden Inn Kitty Hawk/The Outer Banks, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in every aspect of hotel operations, and truly experience how a hotel operates on a day-to-day basis. I had the opportunity to not only rotate at the Front desk, Housekeeping, and Food and Beverage but also in other departments that are rarely seen in this kind of program, such as Sales & Marketing and Human Resources/Accounting. Also, something very valuable about this program is the 1-on-1 training where the managers of each department themselves train you. As an intern, I felt valued and recognized as a team member and also delegated a lot of responsibilities which were opportunities for growth and development. I am grateful for the lessons I have learned, the memories I have made, and the friendships I have gained here. This internship has equipped me with the skills and confidence in a competitive industry where each day presents new challenges and learning opportunities and also deepened my passion for the hospitality industry. “I was an intern throughout the Sumer of 2023 and cannot stop speaking about the amazing time that I had this summer. The overall experience was nothing like I had anticipated. Over the course fot he summer, I switched between 4 departments at the Hilton Garden Inn Kitty Hawk. I was able to experience everything from working the Front Desk to working with the Sales team on events and weddings, that were always happening constantly here. I also rotated into the Food and Beverage departments, in which I Served at both the events and restaurant, as well as being able to experience the financial side of the hotel through working with Human Resources. Not only did i learn a ton this summer, but I also met so many amazing people and friends with this experience. The staff at the Hilton Garden Inn is truly unforgettable and a fabulous team who all works together to not only make the guests happy, but each and every one of the employees happy as well. “I worked at the Hilton Garden Inn in the summer of 2019 as a J1 student, and I had a great experience. I am happy to be back working as an intern. I am learning is much from my internship experience especially since I work in four different departments. This allows me to get a wholesome experience and learn and grow so much in this field. What I appreciate most about working here is how much this establishment takes care of its employees. If you have recently graduated with a Bachelors in Hospitality Management, Business or related degree, this would also be a perfect opportunity to find out your passion and launch your future career! Abbreviated internships are also available to college students who are only available for a defined time-period (i.e. summer internship).

• YOU choose which departments you work in (minimum 4 must be chosen)
• 3-4 months are spent focused in the departments you have the most passion for. You can choose from Human Resources/Admin, Sales & Marketing, Front Office, Housekeeping/Rooms Division, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage (Banquets & Events and/or Culinary Management). 
• Applicants must possess a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
• Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time college student or recently completed with a BA degree in Hospitality, Business, or related degree.
